Riverwalk Pet Resort was founded in October of 2006, by owners Gia and Chris Quinlan. As residents of Riverside they saw the need for a full-service pet resort style business, different than a traditional kennel. They envisioned a facility that would treat your pet like family, while still giving high quality, professional animal care. A place that they themselves would board or groom their own five dogs at a reasonable price. As business owners who live and work in the community, customers often see Gia, Chris and their two kids Christa and Connor around town. Both teens work at the pet resort during the summer and holidays along side their mother Gia. Chris, is a busy entrepreneur who operates another (second generation) business nearby which celebrated its 60th Anniversary in 2018. As a family owned and operated business, the couple have been involved in every aspect of the pet resort since it's conception. We can't wait to meet you and your pet and look forward to you becoming a part of our large extended family.

General Manager

She literally grew up surrounded by animals with a menagerie of pets including 6 horses, 9 dogs, multiple cats, reptiles, a possum, skunk, a potbellied pig, a turkey named Valentina & her favorite dog a Beagle named “Shiloh”. Her mother and older sister are both professional dog groomers. Tanya’s father taught her at an early age about rescue, rehabilitation and the importance of re-releasing animals back into their natural habitat. It’s a passion she still pursues today. Her experience, sense of compassion and work ethic lead her to becoming our youngest manager in 2009. Later, she became our first General Manager, the pet resort has enjoyed much success under her guidance and leadership.

Weekend Manager

She started at the pet resort in 2012 as a kennel attendant. Growing up in a family of animal lovers, it was a natural transition for her to seek a career in the animal care industry. Brought up around dogs, cats, birds, chickens, rabbits, reptiles, lambs, geese and a tortoise, friends and neighbors still come to her with stray pets they’ve found. This lead Esmerelda to her ultimate dream, to someday open a Farm Sanctuary where every animal in need of help will find a home.

Assistant Manager

She grew up on a large farm in Oregon, surrounded by dogs, cats, horses, cows, chickens, pigs, sheep, and a variety of smaller critters. Her best friend and constant childhood companion was her loyal St. Bernard “Brandy”. Sasha dreamed of one day making a career of working with animals. In Texas, she fulfilled her dream by working as a veterinary technician at a busy veterinary hospital. She then moved to Southern California, joining our team in the summer of 2016. We feel lucky to have Sasha as one of our newer team members, her experience is a great asset to our growing company.
